should I turn off my protein skimmer while I use kent phosphate sponge. ( remover ) also should I turn off canister filter , if I only have a sponge in it is that ok ?

thanks , I useing it right now and I have to hook up my ro soon otherwise I feel I will never get rid of these phosphates and alage.my tanks been running since oct . my fish and corals are doing fine but still cant get rid of alage on glass I clean every other day it sucks. 90 gal glass. I will see what happens , how long do you run the remover.

I didn't think about enriching the O2 in the water to help with algae. I have done everything else but this.
What other ways are there to add more O2 in the thank? Simply leaving the covers off the tank help? I know this will increase the evaporation rate, but adding water if way more easy then scraping algae

Algae grows by uptaking CO2 (carbon dioxide) and converting it to O2 (oxigen). Second factor is the lights. This is called PHOTOSYNTHES. Providing water with skimmer and good water movement we circulate oxigen enriched water instead of carbon dioxide enriched.
What other ways are there to add more O2 in the thank?
Aiming at least one of powerheads toward the water surface will help for gas exchange and mixing water with oxigen.

Hey Broncofish!
I don't like LFS here. I know almost every magor LFS and they know me too. Don't forget, Israel is very small!!!
LFS want only one thing: sell you something. They can sell you Dardanos hermit crab as reef safe. This is just one of examples.
They still sell you sumps with bio balls. My tank with DSB and LR only was probably one of a few. So, because you cannot rely on LFS, you learn alone. Sometimes very hard way as my first year in hobby.
