Photography project - NEED HELP!

The other night, I was zoning out in front of the aquarium as I usually do when I got to thinking...
Has anyone taken the time to do some sort of time-lapse photography of their reef tanks? I think this would be ULTRA cool! I figure if I buy a tripod, I could mount my camera and take one picture every 8 hours. If you were to put these pics together as a film, FRAME by FRAME, the result would be awesome, I'd think...
RYEBREAD (or anyone else), if you read this tell me what you think. I almost didn't want to share this idea as I think it'd be a great way to make a GREAT TV commercial for an LFS...

I have definately thought about it. Short term, as in an hour or so as everything opens up when the lights come on, and long term such as coraline growing. After "discussing" the months long time lapse of the coraline growing with my fiance, "we" decided the camera not being moved and sitting in the way was a problem.:D I am definately into that though.

BTW, my camera has time lapse on it......just set the interval. It's just the space needed for the tripod, and the trouble of having to live around it.

I think it's a great idea too.
Tripods are fairly inexpensive depending on what you want to get. I am sure that you could find something good enough for $20-$30.
I would experiment with all kinds of different time lapses. Hours, days, weeks, etc..
Cool idea for sure!
