Photoshop tips??

Hey all,
Well I think I have finally figured out using macro mode and adjusting my camera's limited amount of manual settings (white balance, ev+, and image quality - gotta get a new camera) and was wondering if there are any tips that some of you photoshop people may have to improve the coloring of the pics I take.
I have played with photoshop a little, so know most of the basics like unsharpen mask, curves, etc, but was wondering if there is anything else I can do to bring out the colors the camera seems to bleach out when it takes the pic. I know you are somewhat limited with photoshop, but I have seen some pretty terrible shots improved with photoshop that are incredible.
Thanks for any advice,
OB

you can change the contrast and hues- also the sponge tool for localized color- make sure it is on saturate mode though- otherwise it sucks the colors out

Thanks, I knew about the hues but didn't even think about the sponge tool - I will have to check that out - thanks again :)
