Does anyone have a decent pic of a pod? I saw a little white, almost translucent, critter floating around in my tank today and I'm not sure what he is. I tried to take a pic but it didn't turn out too well.
Thanks,
Gary

I don't have a pic right on hand, but do a search in the reef tank forum for "pod" and there should be many pics. Good luck

Great pics!! That's exactly what it looked like!! And to think I netted one out the other day and threw it out because I thought it was bad.....DUH!!
Does having the pods mean that my tank is doing well?

:notsure: If I have alot of pods in a 30 gal that is only about 1 month old is that really good ,....... does it mean I am getting close to the end of the cycleing process.....?????? and which ones in the pictures are good????

The one marked Cirolanid Isopod you do not want to ever see in your tank. Do a search on them on this board if you want to know more.
The rest are all good. The amphipod pics are of an Australian variety.
If you gave a good pod population then this can mean that you will have a healty sandbed, throw some bristle and other worms in there and your set. Pods are a good free source of food for fish.

Those pictures have made me extremely happy! Have never known quite what I was looking at; only that they were pods. What is wrong with the Australian pod? What harm can they do?

Nothing wrong, I was just stating that those first three were of an Austrailian stlye amphipods, nothing special, just down under pods.

i have another question about pods for anyone who knows....
i am getting ready to put more lr in my tank tomorrow, does anyone know how long it will be before i see pods on it?
the lr in my tank now has copepods on it and some are almost 1/2 inch long, lol, but they hide under my rock flower anemones and mandarin is looking skinny. i know there are enough pods in there that he could be eating but i am going to go get mysid shrimp tomorrow morning any other suggestions to buy to see if he will eat more?

I'll just be happy if and I mean IF your mandarin will except frozen or dead food, If only they all would there would not be so many of them dieing.
Good luck to you.
