i can get one in the morning, but i dont know how to set the camera to get a good full tank shot. it always seems that it comes out to small and you cant see everything. ill try tomorrow though, cause my lights are already out.

they should survive, i dont know if theyll grow as fast as mine do. and just some fyi, mine seem to like a medium flow, just so there waving a bit, but not so there being pushed.

i used to feed phyto, but i stopped because it seems like a waste to me, and everything has been doing great since. so i dont feed anything. i do spot feed everything in my tank besides the zoas, my leather and my flame scallop. i usually just spot feed meaty foods like mussels, squid, fish, clams, etc. and i have 250w MH over the tank.
thanks for the comments, and ill try and get a full tank shot up sometime tomorrow.

How do you spot feed, I would imagine with a long syringe/baster, but doesn't the food just move away in the current? Your tank is awesome!!!!

it really depends on what im spot feeding. i always just turn the lights off for about an hour then get the food ready. i then just take a decent size piece of clam, or mussle or whatever i have prepared and i just stick my hand in the tank and feed each one. the frogspawn and hammer i give a piece to each head, the tentacles just grab ahold and then the piece is swallowed by the mouth. my mushrooms, ricordeas and umbrella polyps , i just put a piece of meat on them and they slowly close up over it and take what they need from it, then i scoop out whatever they leave behind about an hour later. my brain i just put a piece on the mouth and in a few minutes, it swallows it whole. my bubble coral always eats huge pieces so i just place apiece on the feeder tentacle, and they get carried into the mouth.
i also have numerous hermits who i just give a small piece to and i also give my purple lobster and my serpent star a nice chunk of meat as well, and they all seem happy. i do this about twice a week. the rest of the time there on there own.
thanks for the comments. :happyfish

this is a great tank and great pics!!!
Are you really a teen? if so
. Have you had any problems with your purple lobster? some threads say they are a problem and I have one too....just wondering because I have never seen it eating anything...but I know it is most active at night when I'm not watching.

thanks, im 18 years old, first year in college. the name teen comes from my first name which is actually constantine, so teen is just a nickname i picked up and thats what everybody calls me. i havent had any problems with my purple lobster, mostly because i keep him fed. he has a cave he stays in most of the day, but at night hes all over the tank. i think when i first got him though he killed a cardinal fish i had, but im not 100%sure it was him, its just a hunch. you should try spot feeding yours, its kinda fun to watch :happyfish

I had two cleaner wrasses and one just dissapeared one day and never returned. don't know if it went down the overflow or if it got eaten. It wasn't sick and both of them were eating well...so I was thinking maybe the lobster got him one night??? I will try spot feeding. I have to get one of those big things to do it with....I don't know what they are called.

its probably easier to just stick your hand in the tank and feed him. if anything hes gunna be scared of you.
