pics of my 55gal fish only tank

Here are some pics of my tank. It's a very simple setup for now. I only have a Demsel and a Foxface in there now. I plan on adding live rock and a protein skimmer in the next few weeks. My water level is a little low but am doing a water change later today so it will be nice and full by this evening.

Nice fishies..lol...I see you are going to add LR eventually, but maybe you should get some a littler sooner so the fish have some hiding places.

I'm trying to spread out the cost a bit so was thinking protein skimmer this weekend and the LR on the 30th when I get paid again. For the most part he hides in the blue cave lol.

Looks good but you really should add live or base rock so he doesn't get to stressed. Keep up the good work.

Do you guys think it's more important right now to buy the liverock and get a skimmer in 2-3 weeks? From what I read the liverock will help the tank alot.

IMHO i would get the LR first. Make sure its cured as not to cause a spike, Is that a penguin 400 ?

YES....not only for the tank, but for the fish...they need places to go...to hide...to make a home for themselves and to help them to feel secure

I am honestly not sure what kind of filter it is. I got the tank and filter from a cousin a few years ago and I just converted it to saltwater. The filter I believe is rated for 75gal or so. Never had an issue keeping my Cichlid tank clean.

Ok that sounds good to me. I will go tomorrow and pick up some liverock and let it cure over the weekend. My LFS charges $5.99lb for liverock so I gonna get maybe 30lbs this week and have to get another 30 next week.

Nice tank and fish! When you get the rock in there you gotta post some pics for us!

make sure u feed the foxface some veggie, since it doesnt hv any lr to pick at.

I went ahead and picked up 40lbs of live rock last night. It has been cured for 3 weeks at LFS and came from a tank teardown. So far so good. The fish love the lr. They seem alot happier since I added it. I will be buying another 20lbs or so in next couple weeks once I recover lol
