well I got my caribbean rock in today and I'm pretty impressed for what it cost which was $3.40/lb with overnight shipping, I got 20lb and will be getting 25lb of marshall ultra in a week or two but its gonna cost a lot more $8/lb shipped, the water in the third pic is cloudy because I stirred up the sand last night, the rock of course looks better in person, it has some dark red coraline algae on it, also a bit of pink, yellow, green, and orange coraline

Enigma I know you didn't mean offense but you come off offensive and arrogant, first off the rock looks MUCH better than the pictures, I took the pictures with my camera phone, second if you know where to get fiji thats not just plain blocky and brown for less than $2 a pound let me know. I also have hawiian base rock also. Aragocrete is ugly and hawiian base rock would be folds better looking. And the Aquacultured Carrib. rock is dense, blocky and full of unwanted hitchhikers. You can't see with the pics but the rock has amazing shapes. I'm not saying this rock is the holy grail because its not but for $2.25 is was a good way for me to get some LR to go with my $8 a pound marshall is. ultra since I can't afford 110lb of $8 rock. I don't mean to offend you but it pisses me off when people go into a thread and simply to say no offense but I don't like your rock you should have gotten something else. It'd be like me looking at your tank and saying no offense but your tank is ugly I think you should start over.

Depending on how you make aragocrete rock depends on how it looks. I have some stuff in my tank that looks great. It is covered in corraline and corals and mixed with the fiji you can't tell the two apart unless you really look hard up close. I think that the only reason to pay more than you payed for any rock is to immediately get the colors and algaes instead of adding a few pieces of mature rock to a tank and let it spread over time. For the price you did get some very colorful rock.

Mr Enigma. In another post a person post pictures of their 125 because they got a new camera and wanted to post some pictures. Sure enough you go and ripp on him about a pump that is visible. maybe you want to feel better about yourself by bagging on peoples stuff but come on man.

Heaven forbid that somebody post a pic to show off there stuff. they are showing it off not asking if people approve or disaprove. If you like the pict then compliment. If you don't like it then keep it to yourself.

Oh cmon guys.... I'm sure the pics are giving this rock an injustice. I understand what Mr. Enigma is saying - putting a better quality rock on top of the rock you bought - you could have used a cheaper base rock, thats all. But in my opinion using a cheaper LR (yours) on the bottom is what I would have done too. We all have opinions - he gave you his opinion on your LR - thats all. He didn't call you stupid or that you were doing things wrong, he just gave you another way to do things. You could have replied as you started to - that the pics didn't do the rock justice and that you appreciated his comments, good or bad. I'm sure he didn't mean to insult anyone.
