I thought I would show you all a few pics of my other hobby. I hope this pic works, this is my dragster that I race. The races are only 1/4 mile, but its a very intense and very quick BLAST down the track.

the car on the left is a 67 camaro, I drive it on the street and take it to the track sometimes. It has about 550HP and runs low 11's in the quarter. The car on the right is my off-road thing, it hass 44 inch tires, a crazy lift, and a 450HP motor.

Nice Rail! I grew up around the Gatornationals track in Gainesville Florida. I'm guessing 8.*s. There is an 1/8th mile track where I live now. I hate the 1/8th and won't waste my time.
The Camero is sweet also. I have a 2002 corvette that I've done some minor work on that run's in the 12s.

Tangman, good guess on the quarter mile times, my best time in the dragster is 8.10 @178mph. As for the "hemi", Nope, no hemi here, I run a very tweaked chevrolet motor that puts out about 1000HP. The camaro also has a small block chevy, all motors are built by my younger brother and myself.

to give you an example, everytime I go somewere and race for the weekend I drop at least $350. I only have a 20g reef tank setup now(so cost isnt too big), but the difference in cost between racing and aquariums is pretty bad. Need something for the tank, maybe cost a couple hundred. Need something for the racecar, maybe $1,000 , maybe $5,000 , maybe$10,000 , and unfortunately sometimes alot friggin more. I Love my tank and I LOVE my cars. Can't wait till my Diablo is done. Simply put, the racing is more expensive. I know some people on this board who have a fortune invested in their tanks, when I have more knowledge, I will have to set up a big tank

Nice stuff for sure!!
I will post photos later of our dragster.
Here is the 64' Corvette though.....it is pretty quick too for a door slammer. 940hp - 9.20s in the quarter.

And here is the only shot that I have on the computer at work of the dragster.........the wheel.

Diablo is made on a chromoly tube chassis. Suspension and braking system that is out of this world (brembo, adjust in cab, etc...) Motor is 400ci V8, AFR aluminum heads, aluminum rods, pistons, titanium valves, Jesel shaft rockers, all Roller valve train, nitrous system by NOS, total power on the bottle is about 825HP. Camel color leather insides, 19X13 rear wheels, 18X10 fronts. Many hours of research put into coolant system design for this pain in the a## car. This car will eat the real deal for breakfest any day of the week, and we built it for about half the cost. We also recently got a funny car that is in the works, I will try and take some pics tonight when I get home. Talk to you later.

Ryebread, beautiful cars. The funny car chassis we recently bought is being converted to left hand steer and we are getting a 63 corvette body like yours except the convertible one. We will probably race it in the 9.90 class in IHRA. What class do you race your dragster in. or what times etc...

just saw the dragster pics, killer car. I see your blown, probably on alchohol or maybe a little nitro huh? Is your car a stiff tail or 4-link? anyhow, your cars are beautiful. Our drag cars also both have matching flames, and will be the dragster and vette just like you, and hey we both like reef tanks, holy crap if your a good looking hottie we may have to move in together. just kidding.

Well.......there is no doubt that I am one good looking hottie but, I don't think my wife will let me move in with you.....tempting as it may be. ;)
Is your Vette going to be one of the Tube Chassis? Our 64 is the real deal but, it is super heavy and it still twists a little when launching. You will be much better off with one of the lookalikes! :D
The dragster is one of Spitzers 285" frames with a 540 cu. in. Olds/Fowler engine. It is running about 6.25 in the quarter @ 221mph right now. I don't drive it though........not licensed for anything like that yet.

yes, our vette is on a chromoly tube chassis that was originally built by Cameron Racecars. We are having it converted to the left hand drive type, and doing the 63 vette. in IHRA to run the 9.90 bracket your car has to be left hand steer, bummer because the chassis is perfect, but we want the vette body. We run the dragster in a bracket class also and have to use a throttle stop to slow the car down. Too bad you turned out to be a man, you were going to be the perfect girl.
