pictures on glass, yes or no

I have read (here) that placing a picture of a clownfish hosting an anemone on the glass will make the clownfish in the tank do the same.
How many of you have used/seen this style work ??

There is never a guarantee but I tried this with my pair of aquacultured Ocellaris. They wouldn't go near the anemone for weeks. I put a picture on the glass of a hosting clownfish and it really ticked my pair off (but it made my wife laugh at me
). They would swim up and show their dominance and do swim by's. After a couple of hours they were testing out their anemone. I can't confirm nor deny that the picture worked so I will let you be the judge.

I really don't see a reason not to give this a try. As long as the aggression towards the image is limited, they aren't ramming the glass to the point they are potentially injuring themselves, etc.

You have got to be kidding me? Just when you think you have heard it all.

But I agree, no reason not to try it. If fish are stupid enough to attack their reflection in the glass, no reason not to assume that they might mimic the behavior seen in a pic on the glass.

It was like a 4" x 6". Just needs to be something you know they see which they don't miss a lot. Mine wouldn't get close enough to attack the picture but you could tell it either really agitated or scared them(probably both). Now they attack me anytime I go near their anemone. Good luck!

I did it and it worked for me.... I think
I had a pair of GB maroons go in at the same time as a LTA.
I just got a pic of the same fish with the same anemone off of google and I blew it up to fit the page on publisher.
They started to host within 3 days but idk whether this is fast for maroons or not

So far no luck in the clowns hosting the anemone, the anemone has started moving from its spot.
It climed down then shrank a bit, I feed it once it was stable again, today it came lose/off the rock and it is slowly working its way torward the center of the tank.
I am starting to think the clowns are not compatable with anemone I got them.
I have tomato clowns and the anemone has long tentecals, dose anyone know if they will host it ?
Note:googled it some said yes others no.
