Hi guys thought i'd post this..little stinker likes to pick up objects and carry them around. He has since been moved to another tank with no small frags. He is now covered himself with shells, rocks and grape macro. Anyone else have urchins doing this???

Yup he looks just like that now....most people don't even notice he is in there until he moves. Whats really strange is after a couple of days he gets tired of his camo, drops them and picks something else up...like he's changing clothes! Neat!

I had one that did that a knocked over a rock with several colonies on it. I was gone for a couple days at the time and nothing made it....... in a drunken rage I pulled it out of the tank and threw it as hard as I could out my back door....the payback was the broken off needles that hurt for days and days.

Ouch!
(for the urchin) thats pretty mean, no offence but maybe you shouldn't drink and reefkeep. Next time you don't like how an animal is behaving, send it to me, I'll give it a good home.

ohh come on be realistic. it was causing massive harm to my tank and i didn't want to deal with it. it was a good way to release the anger after coming home to dead and dying corals. i've gotta say that i feel no remorse for that horrid little creature.

Very nice, great little creatures, I have a few different types myself, always thought it would be fun to set up a tank designed just for urchins ....

When you placed the urchin in your tank you chose to deal with it, it did not choose you, you chose the responsibility, you bought it, you brought it home, you acclimated it and put it in your tank! Realistic enough? OK I could not resist
