pincushion urchin

It depends why it happened. If it knocked against something and some broke, in time they would regenerate. It they are losing them all over, it is most likely due to a water quality issue (in particular low salinity) and/or acclimation. Could you tell us more about the urchin - how long you've had it, your tank and parameters?
By the way, welcome to SWF!

I've moved the thread to our forum on inverts for more attention

I have had the urchins for approximately 18 days. I have them in a 55 gallon tank that has live rock, soft corals, inverts and fish. Everything else seems to be fine including the pencil urchin. The pincushion urchins lost their needles almost immediately after acclimation. Thanks for any insight.

How did you acclimate it? For how long?
