pink algae?????

I was looking in my tank just now and noticed some pink(not red) algae growing on a rock. It's strange looking like nothing I've ever seen. It's growing under a ledge in a nice shaded area of the rock. Can't find charger to camera otherwise I would post some pics.......anybody have an idea,or pics of what they might think it is?

could be pink coraline algae.. does it look like that? or can you describe how far it is off the rock what it feels like and looks like other than pink?

ummm its smooth mostly, but there are a few spots that are kinda prickly I guess you can say...and no pics sorry still cant find my charger

does it have syphon holes? if so, then it's a sponge in my opinion. Pink sponges are not all that uncommon.
