Pink Bubble Tip Anemone

My LFS has one and is asking for $70. I have no idea of what those would normally cost. My female False Percula was hosting it when she was still at the LFS. He has had the PBTA for 2 years and this is the first time they are actually selling it.
Deal or no deal?

The one my LFS has has hot pink tips. I'm going to run by this afternoon and see if I can get a pic of it. I don't think pink is the correct name for it, it could be called Rose Tip?

A pic would be benificial... IMO Its either a coloration of a rose BTA or a bleached BTA. There are no "Pink BTA's" The scientific name for a bubble tip anemone is Entacmaea Quadricolor meaning 4 colors, while they do come in a variety its mostly shades of green, rose, orange, sometimes pink too but its a variation of a rose. If it truley is than IMO yes its definatly worth $70.00 that is a good price for a RBTA as most are in the $100 and up range. Good Luck.

I'll give them a call and see if they can take a pic and email it to me. Wouldn't a dyed one bleach by now? They've had it for 2 years.

Yes I dont believe its dyed if in fact they have had it for 2 years. Although depending on the lighting it could also be a RBTA that is bleaching. Insufficient lighting doesnt mean that the anemone will bleach instantly the process can take a lot of time even years, especially if the animal is spot fed regularly, and also depending on how much the lighting is lacking.

Wish me luck! I'm heading out to the LFS to get a pic of the anemone. I won't bring it home yet, I want to know for sure what I'm buying first. + I broke a tube in my acclimator and don't have super glue. Need to find the glue first :)

That anemone was beautiful but IMO too small for my big lady (size medium). I kept thinking it was larger than what it actually was now that I really looked at it. It's a RBTA and right now there was a skunk clown hosting it. LFS has it in a 180g reef tank. I'm going to have my LFS look for a large either GBTA or RBTA. I was so looking forward to bringing that little lady home :( oh well. I did get my acclimator fixed with super glue :)

I have had my PINK BTA for about 3 months now with no color loss, but my tomato clown wont host it. My LFS has got me a new XL saddel back anemone almost a foot wide for $45 clams (U.S. dollas) and my pink BTA was $25. so it was kinda high for that bta. GOOD LUCK keep an eye on that anemone they like to MOVE.

Yeah we had a Condi that was still for over 5 weeks and once I re-aquascaped the tank, he took off and finally a powerhead intake won their meeting.

70 for any size of RBTA is well worth it, and people saing the size of the fish hosting it matters, it dose not, as long as the BTA is healthy and dosent have a foot problem then its a still IMO
look in my avatar and see them maroons, the MALE is in it, in that pic and hes 4.5-4.75" big.....thats my RBTA that always splits and they like that one the most...i have bigger ones but they just like that one i guess becuase its in a dark spot...and remember maroons are some of the roughest hosters they have been hosting that RBTA for years! and he hasnt bother it one bit other then the fact that they over feed it IMO, but they know whats best for it

this maybe a silly question, but I just started a new tank and I have 2 anemones that I put into my 250 gal tank. I put my Florida Condi on one end of the tank and my Magenta Sebae on the other end. Now both of them are in the middle of the tank, side by side. I am afraid that they will kill each other. Is this possible? In my sons tank that happened once before and one died asap and the other one lasted about 2-3 days later, and it died too! I do not want this to happen on my tank. $$$$ Also i have one clownfish in my tank. Could I get another one to put into it , so both anemones are being feed. Also will the 2 clownfish attack one another, over the anemones?

YOU CAN GET ANOTHER BUT NO GUARANTEES IT WILL HOST, THE CHANCE IS ALWAYS THERE OF FIGHTING, BUT IF THE NEW ONE IS SMALLER THAN THE ONE YOU HAVE YOUR CHANCES ARE BETTER. CLOWNFISH DONT NORMALLY HOST CONDI'S
