I bought a Pink Tip Haitian Anemone a little bit ago and acclimated it and when i put it in my tank it got blown behind soem rocks. Will it come back out? I hate to tear into my rockwork and distrurb the substrate.

Anyone? It still is behind the rocks ( i guess i can't see it ) and i'm worried it is stuck and will die.

My anemone did this when I upgraded my lighting..everyone told me it would eventually come out but after a few days it still hadn't, I moved all my rocks, took it out, it hid again, I took it back out, it hid again, I left it this time and it did eventually come back out on it's own.So I would at least give it a few days to get adjusted.

I moved a rock and found it wedged. Although it looks really bad. I know they deflate but the tenticles look battered up and only about 3 look good with the pink tips. Think it will be ok and how do i know if it is dead, will it turn to mush?

I have read on here that if it is dying it will look like it is melting. My anemone looked really bad once, the tips of it's tentacles even started coming off but then it recovered.

That's kinda what mine looks like. What should i feed it and how often. My LFS that i got it from said "don't feed it, it will find food", and i don't knwo if i believe that.

uh..no, you need to feed it. I feed mine silverslides twice a week. If you place it on it's tentacles it will take it from you. What kind of lighting do you have?

IMO that should be fine, but others may disagree with me. I have 260 watts of PC on a 55 gallon and mine does okay.

The LFS i got it from gets them and thier tanks have a standard light, maybe it's a 50/50 but can't be more than a 65watt bulb.

that's how my lfs keeps theirs also and the anemones are all bleached out from not having the proper lighting.

same here the base has no color and the tips are not very colorfull. The one i bought though was spread way out and was attached to a turbo snail. I had to buy both to get the anenome but it let go on the way home.
