my girlfriend just bought a 1 inch pink and
yellow anthia. It stays at the bottom and
doesnt do anything, not even swim, we havent
seen it eat. I was told it will eat flake and
pellet food. is this a normal behavior for this fish? is it supposed to swim around or stay
at the bottom? It doesnt appear to be dieased.
and its very responsive.
I'm not familiar with anthias and was curious what their behavior patterns are. thanks

i dont think that is normal behavior for an anthias,
anthias generally aren't reccomended for beginners, because they are hard to keep generally due to their diets, most need a diet of zooplankton and some algae(filamentous), but some may eat flake, pellets and or frozen(however most are difficult o get to eat and need to be fed a couple of times a day), another thing, do you have alot of rock or an empty tank?? anthias like to hide in rock work, and what are your water parameters, and other tank mates, what size tank do you have??
the fathead sunburst anthias(mostly pink and orange or yellow) does like deeper water, and would probably stay near the bottom
i don't know if this helps any or not
