Pipefish in a refugium?

Pipefish are a wild caught species that will most likely require live food for their life. It will be extremely unlikely that you will be able to wean a pipefish to frozen mysis.
Another truth about wild caught fish, is the possibility of bringing disease to a healthy tank. QT and treating for external and internal parasites is a safegaurd you won't regret. I wouldn't allow an unquarantined fish like that into community water until I was positive of it's health.
Lastly, all of the above considered first, it would require no less care (probably more) than you give to your DT. All of the same basic requirements for lighting, temp, etc.
