Pipefish questions.

At the moment pipefish are generally wild caught. So you will probably have one that eats live food but if your lucky you might find one that eats frozen. Mine lived off of copepods mostly but he also liked brine shrimp and even frozen mysis. At the LFS he didn't eat frozen that i know of but he did tend to have a few pieces along with live foods.
I would start a brine shrimp hatchery and get lots of copepods, rotiphers, all those goodies for the tank and add phytoplankton often to keep the plankton happy.
Hope that helped

So just feed the pipefish copepods, (baby or adult?)brine shrimp, and rotiphers? I also culture my own phytoplankton. Every how often should I feed the pipe fish? Or will it just feed on its own in the tank?

If the pipe only eats live it will be difficult to maintain him in a 28. Really look into what is entailed in culturing copepods and rotiphers, as well as check the cost if you just plan on shipping in live pods. They don't last very long from those little bottles.. couple of days maybe is all.
It's difficult to keep anything alive on ABS.

Feed the pipefish at least every day.... twice is better.

all pipes are wild caught, and have to be trained to eat frozen, it can be done, it just takes time. abs are not good for them, you are better off with small gut loaded ghost shrimp.

Can I just culture copepods and rotiphers for the pipefish and that's it? I might give them baby brine shrimp once in a while and maybe some frozen if they will eat frozen.
