I hear ya on this one. I now have a 24 gallon nano and I wonder if its big enough for a striped one or if 2 clowns would terrorize it to much?

if you get one i think the key is make sure it is eating frozen before you buy it and if it is only eating frozen brine then get some vitamins for soak the food in, they are like seahorses very slow eaters....here is a picture of mine its a many banded pipefish.

i feed the tank in the morning then i use a turkey baster and stir up the stuff left about early afternoon, then i feed again in the evening...im still worried about getting to much leftover food and polluting the tank

my tank is a 55 i may have gotten lucky i do nothing special for my pipe, feed him and treat him just like i do the horses, i would say so far he has to be a 5 but i have always heard they are 1 or 2, but if they are eating frozen when you get them i think that is the big hangup

hey larry can i maybe have fire goby, randalls shrimp goby, clownfish, and a few shrimp and crabs in a 24 gallon tank invertabretes dont count as fish

now this is from what i have read, and experinced but everyone is different, shrimp gobies are good and little,a single fire fish should be ok, they fight others, and crabs and shrimp are fine, now the books say a fire fish (dart fish) should have a 30 gallon but a 24 should be fine, also they are jumpers...now pipe fish do get long, 8inches or bigger depending on the size. just Google the kind you want and it will tell you all you need to know, i wont add them all at once. hth
