Pistol shrimp and goby

I would like to get a pistol shrimp/goby pair and I was wondering if there were any guidelines to follow when selecting the pair. I have yet to see in my LFS an existing pair, so can they be purchased separately? Which types pair up? Are there any types to avoid? I'm not in a hurry to make a purchase, so I'm trying to figure out the "right" way to do this.

If you look on here under the gobies...it will tell you some kinds that will host with a pistol shrimp. I don't believe there is a specific type that goes with another like there is with clowns to an anemone but I will let some others chime in with personal experiences.....

I had a babershop goby and maybe 6 months later got a pistol shrimp and after about 2 days they were buds..
But then again, 1 month before I had another pistol shrimp and thought he died (was just hiding) but they didnt pair up..

hopefully you dont have any cleaner shrimp because mine likes to eat these
