I thought pistol shrimps where reef safe?

I have 6 different shimp in my Reef tank including a double fisted Pistol shrimp, never had a problem with any of them getting stunned.

i got a tiger pistol, skunk cleanr, and a Harliquen shrimp..NEVER had a problem. that video NEVER shows it killing the cleaner shrimp..it just shows it jumping back when it snaps...I bet that shrimp was either dead or the divers killed it..cause the Pistols are normally scavengers unless it was REALLY hungry.

i dont know if i really believe that. im pretty sure pistol shrimp have horrible eye sight and usually depend on gobies to bring them food and in return, the shrimp digs a burrow for the fish to hide in. i didnt think they were predators, but more along the lines of scavengers.

I have been wondering if a peppermint and a red blood shrimp would get along. I already have a peppermint but sure would like to get a red blood. Do you happen to have those two together? Thanks.

I have a pepp and a blood shrimp, never had any problems.
Pepps hide alot, and once they find thier 'cubby' they kinda stay there. I have a cleaner, blood, and pepp. in a 44g tall. They each have thier own 'area' in the rocks that they call home. Very little interaction between them. Just my experience.

The six Shrimp that I have in my 55g Reef - Peppermint, Monkey, Blood, "Standard" cleaner, "Rare" cleaner, and the Pistol shrimp.
The Pistol shrimp will not break the glass of a tank.
The Pistol is very territorial and will "shoot" if something gets to close.

Its just not commonly seen like some of the other shrimp - Lysmata galapagensis,
