Pistol Shrimp

Good or Bad? :notsure: or just annoying. Who has bought them, Who has introduced them into there tank by accident when they added live rock . Has anyone ever been able too catch one?

i got one as a hitchicker. i barely ever see it. only with a flashlight at night if i shine it into a hole in the rock. i think they are cool, but kinda a waste of money if you dont have a shirmp goby paired with it. Pistole shrimp are almost blind, they use the gobies as their eyes, touching them with their antennae to tell when they rush back into the hole. without one, youd never see it. they can also become a neusence cause they dig a lot. mine lives in live rock, so has no need to dig. but if you have corals in the sand, youd have the brush them off.

I got too get me a new goby. Is that what there are called shrimp gobys? Is this what you have with your pistol shrimp.

yes, shrimp gobies.
i dont have one paired with my pistol shrimp. not sure why, i jsut havent gotten one. i do have a goby in my 29 gallon, but a sand sifter, not a shrimp goby.
