Pistol Shrimp

I'm thinking of putting a pistol shrimp/goby combo in my JBJ 12g nano. I was curious how loud is the clicking a pistol shrimp makes? My tank sits just outside my bedroom, and I don't exactly want something keeping me awake all night. Also, to what extent do they dig...is it enough to knock rock work over, or are they pretty content once they've dug a couple of burrows? Thanks for your input.

they do snap once in a while, but only if somthings bothering them, such as another shrimp passing buy, or a hermit crab. my tank is in my bedroom, and i never hear the snapping when im sleeping, but i do hear it occasionally during the day.
mine doesnt dig long tunnels. he just settled under one of my mushroom rocks and dug a hole under neath with a front and back door. he dug it probably 3 inches into the sand bed.
i do suppose they could knock rocks over, but just introduce him into an area of the tank where you want him to stay, and he should just stay there and start digging, or at least thats what mine did.

Depending on the size of the pistol they are quite loud. But after awhile you really get used to the sound you dont really notice it. As for digging it is a continuous process they really don't ever quit. I havent had mine topple any big structures of liverock but have to continually rescue frags from his burrow. Would I trade having him? Never, he is fascinating to watch.
