plate coral, green

I purchased a plate coral. been in for 2 weeks. nothing happening. is there a side up, tried both.
one side round and smooth. one side flat. looks like expensive sand dollar!!

LOL yes the side with the fine fins that go towards the center is the top. They can be finiky, but should have opened by now, does it smell? also any fabric looking flesh coming off him?
Once they get a bruise or tear in the flesh they generally die and the flesh (thin looks like fabric) starts to come off. They are fragile so be cautious of where you place him.

pulled out of tank. no smell, noflaking of any sort.
one side has very fine lines. other has much coarser ,dominate lines.
no fur or slime on any of it..
