plate coral/not dinner plate

so the Heniochus A. is supposed to be reef safe but one has been pecking away at the new orange plate. Not having the option of moving him at this time, I covered the plate with a lid that I cut from a water container (clear plastic). A small section, like 5%, is no longer orange now. What, if anything, can I add to the plate's "teepee" to help the plate recover?

Actually the Heniochus Acuminatus is NOT reef safe. It tends to pick on coral as well as eat the foot of anemones and just create havoc. It is the similar bannered fish, Heniochus Diphreutes that is reef safe.

HMMMMM, I read that the other way around somewhere. I also have a pair of Heniochus-VARIUS with the horn on their forehead. I'll have to re- research this one, thanks.

The Varius species has a tendancy to pick on corals and few inverts as well. Just thought I would share that with you....
