Plate Coral vs. Dragonet

The plate won, i watched as the dragon hovered over it and the plate reached out and grabbed it and almost swallowed it whole. Was amazing but scary at the same time. By the time I was able to get to it the damage had been done. Now hes crab food. :s. Similar situation happened about 3 weeks ago when a few of my daisy polyps broke off and fell onto my brain coral. It opened up and tried to swallow the entire piece.

No pic, I was actually believe it or not more worried about the coral than the fish. By the time I had gotten the fish out it had already opened its mouth almost 2 inches and was attempting to swallow it whole. Its a Long tentacle Plate Coral. Below is a picture of the actual coral. It stretched about 2 inches more than normal to capture it. I rubbed my hand across it and the ends of the coral have some type of suction on them as it grabbed my hand with a decent grip. When I removed the fish from it it also wouldn't let it go right away. Weird.

Ohh yea, going to keep the coral. Im upgrading to a 240 from my 80 soon, hopefully it will be big enough for them to survive together.

The fish in the video isn't even struggling.... IMO,he was in a weakened state to begin with.
That or it has already been killed by the coral.
However, I can't imagine a coral being able to catch a healthy tang, so I agree.

I've seen fish with half their flesh gone and they are still fighting... that doesn't look digested enough to have died simply from that, IMO.
