Plating Montipora???

Have a guy local to me selling plating montipora frags. They look to be about the size of a quarter to half dollar. Colors look to be possibly orange and yellow. He's selling them for $12 a frag. I was looking to pick one up but wanted to ask a few questions first.
I have a 75gal. DT that's been set up almost a year. Water parameters are all perfect. Have a few softies (zoas, yellow colony polyps, button polyps, gsp's, etc.) that are all doing well.
Lighting is 2 tek t5 retro setups in my canopy for a total of four bulbs with individual reflectors. I'm using all giesemann bulbs. One midday, two aquablue+, and one pure actinic. Bulbs sit approx. 4" off the surface of the water.
Not sure of the lighting requirements of this type of coral? Do I have enough?
If so how is that price @ $12 a frag? Anything else I need to be aware of or look at?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I figured the light would be ok as long as I kept it up high. I think I might get one and see how it does. I thought $12 sounded like a decent price. Thanks again.

just make sure your alkalinity isnt low and your magnesium and calcium are where they should be. also check your phosphates and nitrates; theyll brown out if you have too many phosphates or nitrates. also your flow is important as well

with t5 and individual reflectors, u can put it anywhere from middle to top of tank. monti plates r pretty easy to keep.

If you put the cap near the top they will color up more and grow faster. I have tested some monti frags under PC lights and they have grown only slighty. Price looks good to and would be a good beginner SPS to start with. What do you have for flow?

They like lots of flow. Here is one I got at about the same size and price too in October. At the time I had just less than 400 watts of PC on my 72 bow. Kept him up high. Second shot is now three months later. But I did just this week upgrade to a Nova extreme pro with 6 T-5's. He should be fine with yours.
