please clear up confusion

is it true that the sand sifting stars will kill your critters in your sand. i mean i know they eat some of them but is it like a mandarin for instance in that it will destroy the entire population quickly. someone who knows for a fact please clear this up.

I have had one in a 55 for several months now. They do not move around much and tend to stay in one place for awhile so I would say no they do not kill of the entire population of sand critters.
Now if i had about 10 of them in a 55 I am sure it would be a different story.

I have one in my tank and he does an excelent job and no he does not kill all my little critters in the tank. I also have a Manderin Goby and there is so many copapods and stuff in my tank that there is no way that they will ever eat them all.
