i have a 2yr old 75g tank only stock is niger trigger and catfish tank needs to be releveled my problem is i have no where to put the water that i drain from the tank is it possible to discard the water and use new water for the tank and have the fish back in the tank in a few days? no lr

Yes it is, my only concern is since you have no live rock the bacteria on the glass make up a fairly significant portion of your nitrifying bacteria and when you drain the tank most of them will die and it will take a few days for the population to rebound. Just make sure you have water on hand to perform water changes in case your ammonia starts to spike.
