Please Help, Curing Live Rock

OK, I have been curing my rock for 3 weeks now...I have 2 powerheads in the tank, a over the back filter, and a protien skimmer working on this, I have also pulled all dead debris off rocks, and have been changing my water every week
20%
This is 25lbs of rock in a 29 gallon tank
I have also been adding something that is supposed to lower amnonia....However my amnonia level is still 8ppm
I am using a test that u add 8 drops of one thing and 8 drops of another thing to the water then wait for it to change colors...it is as dark as it gets (which is bad) recently it has taken a little bit longer to get darker...does this mean that its getting better??
Should it take this long?

I have only used the amnonia stuff once... so hopefully that wont turn out too bad,
however the test i have starts out clear then gets darker, like a dark green, lately it has taken longer for it to turn dark green, but it still turns dark green, does that mean its getting lower, b/c in the beggining it would turn dark green in like 3 seconds, now it takes like 2 minutes....

It is a ammonia test kit, it comes in a yellow box, and is made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, it contains a test tube and 2 bottles of some solution that u put in the water...u add the drops and wait 5 minutes...by the end of 5 minutes it is always at 8 ppm, as dark as it can get (which is bad) lately it has taken longer to get darker though, could this mean the process is working?

OK,
try this - stop worrying, if your lights are off (technique for curing "uncured LR) turn them on and leave them on all day and night. This will put the nitrogen cycle into overdrive and help increase the ammonia eating microorganisms.
If that doesn't work - wait, since you cleaned your rock (no longer recommended by anyone because the loss of cool things far outwieghs the speed of curing) you have essentially cleaned off some of the good stuff and the rock needs to settle.
If that doesn't work - toss in some shrimp for the grocery store - this will increase teh ammonia level essentially feeding and thus increasing the number of microorganisms. Pull the shrimp out after two days and within a day all will be well.
