Please help ID these things

I have little whitish creatures growing on all available unlit surfaces in my tank and refugium. I first thought they might be the dreaded glass anemone, but on closer inspection, they look more like a cone of flesh with a featherduster-like cone coming out the apex. What are these? I'll try to get a picture up later to help (at work).

Barnacles? I just got a bunch of nerrite snails from reefscavenger and they are covered in barnicles. pretty neet.
I'm all the way in Rochester and those things on your glass are too hard to see from here. I can't tell. Maybe a picture would help.
I'm such a jerk.

Well, after your replies, I think it's the q-tip sponge. I did a google search and found a picture that looks exactly like what I have. Apparently they're harmless, and That's Good:)
Couple more tidbits of info (to narrow it down more); they're soft-bodied, and come off whatever it is they're on quite easily. Since nothing is showing signs of detriment from them being there, think I'll leave em' be.
Thanks for the help!
