I woke up this morning to find a bug on my new Maroon clown I just put in yesterday. It was about 2mm long, segmented and located under the right fin of the clown. I took the clown out of the tank to remove the bug. When I touched it, it started to crawl away. I was able to romove it and threw the bug in the sink. the clown is doing great. No markings or scaring where the bug was.
What was this bug? I read something called "fish lice". Is this waht it was? Is the clown and future fish I put into the tank in trouble? Is there something that would eat these bugs??
Sorry for all the questions, but please help if you can.. Thank you,

Fish lice are disc shaped parasites, and rather large too. Flukes are elongated and sometimes have a V shape at one end. Neither one of these parasites are well known for reproducing in the aquarium, but I would still keep an eye on your fish and remove any more that you might see. Don't worry about secondary infections. If your water quality is good, then your fish will not need further attention.
HTH :D
