Please ID this crazy worm!

Hey everyone!
Can anyone tell me what this thing is and whether or not it is harmful? All I know is that its about 3 inches long and noctural.

looks somewhat like a peanut worm. Look them up and see if it matches.

That doesn't look like any of the pics I've seen of chitons.

The top looks like a Chiton, can you find it and see if you can get a pic of the bottom?

Yup, I think it's a chitan- although perhaps not the most common form since most of them look like they are more circular....
I can't get a pic of its underside since I haven't seen it again, but it was climing on the glass when I found it and I saw that it does look like a chitan's underside.

I agree, it looks like a chiton to me.
If you count those 'plates' on its back, there should be eight...but they could be covered in this case. Anyway, it is typically a great characteristic of chitons.

Very nice pic...makes it easier for folks to attempt a ID with good pic quality. Not a creature we see all the time....yours looks much larger than most I've seen. I have several in my refugium that are dime sized or smaller.
