I bought this piece for only $30.00 I thought a pretty good deal. I don't know what kind it is though. If anyone could ID I would really appreciate it.

Are there different types of finger leathers? Because I have another piece that I bought and it was identified as a finger leather. Pic attached

Its a spagetti coral....that said, this worries me...you went to your lfs and bought a coral without know anything about its lighting, flow or feeding needs....this is not very responsible reefkeeping...make sure you fully understand everything the fish or coral needs before you make a purchase.

Thanks for everybodys help. I knew it was some type of leather but didn't know exactly what type. The lfs i bought the piece from did not have any knowledgable staff working most of them were high school student who obviously had no ideas about what kind of coral it was. They actually had it listed as a polyp tree. Thanks again

you know, some might say find a new lfs, but i say, scope the place out and try and learn as much as you can about their inventory, cause with a good eye, you really could take them for a ride and get some EXCELLENT deals cause no-one knows a thing. i found 4 orange FL rics loose at one and paid only $5 a piece for them cause the high schoolers didn't know what kind of shrooms they were. the guy said, "Well, I'm not sure what type they are, but it says $5 for single mushrooms, so $5 each" my response, "OK, bag 'em up". I know it's wrong in a way to do that, but they'll tell you anything to make a buck, so make 'em pay for the lack of knowledge. I could work in your favor at times.
