Hello,
I purchased a used 55Gallon Corner Tank from a guy to add to my collection. The tank came with a couple of fish and some live rock. Unfortunately the guy I purchased the tank from had very little knowledge about saltwater as his neighbor gave him the tank when he moved away. He did tell me that there use to be a lot more and they were much larger until he had a heater failure.
I am trying to ID the item in the following pictures.
Please note that the last pic appears to be just the stalk with no tentacles. It also looks to have eaten a pellet I put in the tank prior to taking the picture.
Regards,
-Ken

Thanks for the quick reply.
I thought it looked a bit like aiptasia but was not sure as I have never seen any this big before. The one in the picture is about 2” tall.

Definetly aiptasia, make sure you kill them soon they can spread quickly especially when stressed like from a tank move.
