Please point me to good R/O install posts

Can anyone point me to any good threads, esp. with pics, showing how best to install an R/O unit.
I have a laundry room with a slop sink, so I should have enough room. I just need some ideas about how best to put it in, store H2O, etc.
Thanks.

I mounted mine above my washer/dryer. I just split the water line to the washer with a splitter that has a shutoff valve on each of the 2 water outlets. I connected that to the RO unit, then had the outgoing water from the RO unit run down the wall, through a small hole into the garage where i have a large (32G) thick plastic trash can.

I hadn't thought of the garage. That's a good idea. I need to work with gravity tho. i think i need to see a few setups before i pull the trigger....

T he water is forced through the water line, so you do not really need gravity to run it into the trash can. It has worked out very well, i have 2 air blowers for freshwater tanks bubbling up from the bottom of the can constantly for movement. I will try and get a pic tomorrow for you!

The waste water runs out the hole where the waste water from the washer goes

I have a RO/DI filter set-up with cold water set-up using a laundry room tub. See enclosed pics. Yellow tubing for discharge, white tubing for supply water to filter, red tubing for the storage tank. This set-up has worked very well for me, very easy to store water for water changes. Just be sure to aerate the water supply for future uses.

Thanks a lot. Do you have any wider angle shots of the whole room?

Not a real good pic, it is actually a closet two feet from my tank. Makes it really good for water changes.....drain the tank water into the tub.

So let me see if I understand your setup.
You have the water supply split to thje main faucet, and to a valve on the left side of the sink. Tap water flows though the small hose from that valve the filter. (This means that gravity is not a factor in filtering.)
After filtering, water is split to the red hose to fill the storage tank, and yellow hose or waste water, back to the sink.
The larger airline tubing in white/clear is unrelated.
What is the small white hose coming out of the top of the tank?
Do you have any kind of automatic shutoff?
How many stages are in that system?

Only for the air bubbler.

What is the small white hose coming out of the top of the tank? Connected to the air pump for aeration in the storage tank.

Do you have any kind of automatic shutoff? No, just a kitchen timer to keep from overflowing the tank. Believe me when I say that you only overflow the tank one time.

How many stages are in that system? 6 stage RO/DI filter. 100g per day. You tend to have more waste water, but the flow is faster. Hope this helps.

You might consider a tunze water level controller (around $175) to fill your tank from your RO/DI resevoir if you have the cash...saved me tons of time and keeps your tank specific gravity spot on with no effort...also for around $50 you can get a shut off solonoid with a float valve to shut off your RO/DI to prevent accidental overfilling of your resevoir, the solonoid saves your RO membrane from pressure buildup from the float by shutting off the inlet water at a certain pressure. Hope this helps.
