Please pray for the Families

That bites. That is the reason I tend to give cops the benefit of the doubt when they use extreme force. I try to put myself in their shoes and still can't imagine what they go through on a daily basis. You gotta wonder how someone could be so foolish as to escalate what was probably going to be an additional drug beef to first degree murder.

Well, by comparison, there was alot of bashing (not here per se) of the officer who punched the girl who he was trying to restrain. That girl had a more serious criminal record than the suspect in the incident last night.
It's hellishly tragic. My good friends husband normally works that shift but is off on vacation. She is a total mess, I didn't know he was off and when I first found out, thought it might be him. They are now having to think about serious family decisions like should "W" be fatally wounded, should the kids be brought to the hospital to see him. They have spent today discussing and updating their wills, etc.
Another friends BIL worked with one of these guys before he transferred to TPD and says he was just an amazing person to know. Now his own unborn child, due almost any time will never know him. Totally sucks.
I hope whomever knows where the two suspects are laying up gives them up.
These people shot to kill, pure and simple. Cold and calculating.
Edit: I see they have the driver the girl! One step closer! Let me also clarify, the information I have is that they think there was another shooter. It is being considered highly unlikely that one man could make two fatal head shots on two officers in the time span without being wounded himself. The proximity of the officers is what that was based on, however, human error does occur, maybe one of the choked. More will most likely be revealed as the investigation continues.

I was one of the ones who was arguing the face bunch in the other thread. I don't feel you should be able to react based on speculation of what you think can happen. That's very subjective and gives unlimited power to cops as speculation can vary.
BUT that wasn't my argument either. It was the cops ineptness at rallying the chick that led to him having to face punch. If he had on been better at his job, he would have had the girl in the car before anything escalated.
I'm not ignorant to the plight of the cop, I have them on both sides of my family. My Uncle once had a guy who was "stalking" him, a prior arrest that went all Cape Fear on him. Wrapped his car around a pole, dog went missing... etc etc. My Brother-in-law is a retired LASD officier.
It's so sad when families loose loved ones this way :-( I can't imagine the horror. My thoughts are with them.
Oh My! They were young....

One thing to consider is that when cops go to cuff a woman they are trying not to hurt them which may explain why that guy was having such an issue with the first girl (this was pointed out to me by a buddy who's a cop)

Ahh but she came in and attacked him while he was dealing with the original suspect, once that happens all bets are off as far as worrying about harming her.

A couple different radio personalities are going to contribute to helping the families. I guess one of the officers is leaving behind a wife and four boys.
It's real close to where I live. They were showing officers (on the news) with assault rifles in the middle of the streets...
I know officers take injuring/killing other officers really serious. Not long ago, when one of the sherrifs were questioned about why his officers put so many shots into a cop killer his response was "we ran out of bullets"
I personally hope these guys dont simply get caught and dragged into prison... I think the officers who find him should be judge, jury, and executioner upon spotting.

The other left his pregnant wife behind. My husband told me she had the baby today. So sad.

It's called police discretion. It's the most powerful tool that anyone wields in the criminal justice system...so please don't annoy police officers.
Also, the other officer who left behind the child...apparently they had been trying for a long time to even have a kid and it finally happened. I guess there is a lot of complications though. It's good that some people are willing to immediately help them financially.

wow holy crap...watching the news today...
They have 10 huge billboards with Dante Morris' name/FACE on it with "wanted" right next to it. They know who this guy is...everybody knows exactly what he looks like now...even your own family explains how they want you to surrender...what do you do if you're this guy?

It may be a digital billboard. Basically a giant flat panel TV. We have several here in Atl. Its very easy to put new ads on them.

Ask the widow....
The Officer has to react to a lose lose situation......
I guess to be honest, I'd prefer a live cop to a dead druggie any day. On the other hand, if he took the prep out all the alphabet groups would be after him.
There are bad cops out there, they need to be dealt with severely, but so do those who resist cops. We just had a bag of excrement in the Akron area found guily and sentance to death for killing officer Josh McTarian. I hope they fry this bum ASAP.

As much as I like the idea of the cops administering justice to that loser the ramifications of that are far worse. Cops aren't always right.
Now it the guy puts up a fight when they do catch up with him, I don't think I'd be expecting a negotiator to get a call
