Please Read!!! REFUGIUM and Cheato

Hello. I have a 150 gallon aquarium, and I have a wet/dry filter hooked up to it. I am wanting to take out the bio balls and put in live rock rubble instead and have cheato algae in there, but not sure if it is a good dea or not. The way it is set up now is theres a hang on box on the back of the tank thats takes water from the tank and brings it down to the wet/dry filter, and then runs that water over the bio balls and then down into a empy area. then the water goes through a sponge into a big open compartment where I have a pump set up that takes the water back up and puts it in the tank. I got some Cheato from LFS and today added it to the small compartment right under where the bio balls sit, and have the sponge set in there to hold the cheato back but let water pass through yet. Will the Cheato be alright set like that? When I get the live rock rubble i will remove the bio balls and the egg crate that holds the bio balls up out of the small compartment where I now have the Cheato at, and put in the live rock rubble on that whole one side and then let the cheato grow right with it. Does this sound like it will work and be ok? I hope this wasn't too confusing, and somebody can help me out. Thanks!!!

Yes I added a light on it tonight I forgot to write that. Does it require a special type of light? or closeness? I mounted a ordinary showcase light on the back wall about 6 or 7 in. away from the side of the wet/dry filter box and it shines directly into where the cheato is. Will that be alright?

Whatever type of lamp you use should be rated for plants "Gro Lux" or equivalent. I put my cheato in the part of my wet/dry sump where the perfectly lousy built-in skimmer went trained a little floor mounted display lamp w/50 W gro lamp plugged into a cheap timer. Seems to work well.
