If you just put it on scape it off before in gets hard, and it will get REAL hard.
then after it drys you can sand it all off and get some aycrlic glue from one of the big box stores.

Sorry, can't help ya. I was so paranoid I spent about $50 on two part aquarium epoxy sticks for my refugium.
I'm going to move this post to the DIY forum so you get better help.

Man that sux. Maybe its safe when dry though. You could encapsulate it like someone else said. Me personally I would throw a couple of feeders in there to test it for toxicity. Im evil like that though.

Remove as much as you can manually and coat/seal it with something safe. Im not sure where exactly you put it but do both sides if two sides exsist where you are gluing as to not let any of the old sealant make contact with the water. If its hardened you may have some work cut out for yourself.

ok last night i was able to scrape off most of it. it left some residue on the acrlyic. it is hardened now. do you guys think if i get some glue that is made for aquariums and put a coat over all the marine glue it will be ok???? that way the water will not touch any of it. there is a VERY VERY thin coat on certain parts taht i was not able to get off and that is where i will put the aquarium glue....will this work?

I wouldn't throw the sump away. I am not a chemist but they normally list in lay terms the safety hazards. From what I saw it was IMO a major issue during application. It may be inert after the curing cycle is complete.

i got most of it off so there is some residue like i said before so i think i am just going to get the right kinda glue and glop it all over any of the white(marine) glue... thanks everyone. let me know if this is a bad idea though...
