I was doing a little research on GARF and under their "bullet proof reef" they talk about a plemum(sp), What is it? I understand that it is hooked up to a ph and works kind of like an under gravel filter. Do they eventually phase this out?? If someone could explain that would be great.

It reduces nitrates in the tank much like a deep sand bed. Some PVC pipes with a screen on top can be used to keep the crushed coral from falling in. The powerhead is totally unnecessary and would actually defeat the purpose to reduce the nitrates.
