Plenium

Can anyone tell me how to set up a plenium? I know it is to be used w/ live sand, but I can't find the web site where I read about it.

Sure, get enough 1-2" pipe joints to support the plastic eggcrate grid(light diffuser) and glue them to the bottom of the tank. Put the grid on top, then lay a layer of fiberglass window screen on the grid. Add 4" of Seaflor reef aragonite(best gravel for its size) and you're good to go. I used 3" of Seaflor aragonite and 0.5" of Natures Ocean LS to speed my cycle, but I should have used more garvel to achieve 4" total depth.
My reef has never had any measureable nitrates. I run 50lbs LR, 3 pumps and an airlift skimmer as my only equipment/filtration in a 29gal reef.
