plumbing 75 gal

Looks good. But mag return pumps are very loud, take up alot of electricity, and just not very good pumps IMO. I would go with a eheim 1262 or ocean runner 3500. And I would put a T before the scwd that goes back to the sump with a ball valve so you can turn back the amount of water going into the tank for if your overflow cant handle the flow. And I do not think you need that many outlets for your return. I think two would be fine.

I have the same SCWD with two outlets using a Quiet One 4000 pump. Im running 3/4" spa-flex the whole way. If you reduce down to 1/2" you may not get enough flow. If I were to do it over, I would buy a larger pump. I think I'm around 600 gph and would like to be closer to the 900 gph that my overflow is rated for. Works great other than that.

Thanks for posting Nate. I like the spa-flex idea. You may be right about the 1/2" being too small, but since I was trying for 4 outlets, I thought I should reduce. Perhaps I should switch to 2 like you have or just do it 3/4" anyway.

You could probably get away with the 1/2" since you are splitting, but you need to calculate the total amount of plumbing and account for the head loss, before you choose your pump. The SCWD does reduce your available pressure. Have you considered the 1" SCWD?

well the 1" would also work but that would only be if I needed 1" pipe to make this happen. Are there tutorials for calculating these sort of things?
