I"m plumbing my tank and the bulk head i'm using is a slip fitting. Should I glue the pieces in, or is just pushed in enough?
same goes with my return, it's made out of pvc, should i be using primer and glue? I don't think its an issue, i just don't want to contaminate my water

I typically just pressure-fit a "smooth ID/corrugated OD" drain hose into my drain B/H's.
Leave your standpipe as a "pressure-fit" on the "tank side" of your outflow B/H as well. This helps if you need to remove it for cleaning or to completely drain your weir.
For your return, use primer and glue (be sure you give the mating surfaces a light sanding for a better glue joint). Let the glue cure overnight for best results, but give it at least a couple of hours.
