plumbing lines

Hi,
does anyone have and particular specs on the proper return line tubing example 3/4 or 1 lines what wall thickness is used and what grade
i have heard to use PVC tubing but does it matter what the Durometer is? should it be food or lab grade quality?

i used 1" flex reinforced pvc tube.

sorry that is the drain line i used 3/4" flexible spa line for the return.

I used 1 inch pvc, the cheapest I could find. Then put a ball value to help adjust the flow.
