Plumbing question

Hi I recently got some of the equipment for my 180rr aga system that I'm going to be building and I have a question on over flow kits the bulk heads that come with them have barb ends for hoses. Now the question is if I'm going to be plumbing the system with pvc I'm assuming I need different bulkheads and if so which ones? Also for the threaded fittings or ball valves do you put teflon tape on so it won't leak or the pvc glue on the threads?

Make sure the barbed fittings are not just fitted inside the bulkhead(not glued or anything), I seem to remember when I got my megaflow kits the were put inside the BH, looked like it was supposed to be like that, but I just pulled them out and used PVC for my connections. And, yes you do need to teflon tape or liquid teflon on all threaded connections, if using tape make sure you use enough, three or four full wraps over all of the threads is usually good. Check to see if those fittings aren't just stuck in the BH. If they are permanently fixed in the BH, you can still do PVC you'll just have to couple it in with a short piece of tubing and another barbed fitting attached to a PVC Coupler, then you can finish off the plumbing with PVC.
