I am building a fuge and it is going to be located above my display in the closet behind the wall that is behind the tank. My idea is that I don't want very much flow through the fuge. Is that correct? All that will be in it is my skimmer and heater in the first area, one baffle and the rest will be LS, LR, and a bunch of macros and pods.
What I need is a recommendation for what type of pump to use to get water from my 46 gallon display to my 20 gallon fuge. Is a powerhead quieter than a regular pump? How about an external pump? Never used one of them. I figured I could just connect the outflow pipe to a powerhead. The water is only going to have to go about 1 foot above the display. Would a maxijet 900 do it or should I get a bigger one or neither.
How about someone give me a recommendation for pipe diameter? I am going to put an overflow box in the fuge with a stand pipe. If someone does offer a recommendation for plumbing diameter, could they also tell me how big of hole I need to drill for the bulkhead?
Sorry this is so long. I am just not much of a DIY'er.
Thanks in advance for the help.
