plz!read and answer about to leave plz!!i may make a bad choice

im about to go to the fish store to get some live rock and sand.... i have a 29g oceanic biocube how much sand will i need? 20lbs? and how much live rock?
ive had my water in the for about 2 weeks ( 1 week the filters were not running) i have been putting bio zyme in for 4 or 5 days.... when i go could i get some snails/hermit crabs? my s.a. it 1.024 my temp is 76.7 i dont know what my other test things are........ im thinking about getting test strips instead of the drops is this ok?

Get about 30 lb of sand and about 20-30 lb of live rock. Get the API or Salifert test kits because API and Salifert are the best brands and most accurate. Don't get the test strips because its garbage. Don't dose anything you cant test for!

20 lbs sand will give you a 1 inch sand bed just about, thats what I have. Ive got 30 lbs or so in the tank now, try going for about that to start out then later on increase it to your liking.
