Poll, how many gallons of SW have you injested..

Yeah, dumb thread, but written in the wake of a nasty mouth full of instant ocean I'm guessing about 25 gallons on my part

I still syphon it out of the main but replace with a powerhead to refill. Yeah I know what tank water tastes like. I even know what the bottom of a crushed corals substrate tastes like.

After about the third time I took a good drink I changed to moving water with powerheads and installed drain tubes into system.

Duhhhhhh...you mean nobody else consumes a quart or so just to insure water quality!!! Heck...thats my primary quality control method!!! Kind of like Coors beer if you ask me...real crappy stuff but lots of folks drink it!!!!

I refuse to drink that water! After curing LR in it last month I saw it turn all kinds of interesting colors & smells! I choose to use my boats' bilge pump whenever I need to move water. I do everything in my power not to "break siphon"!!! Good thread though!

hahaha. Funny. I've seen people do the mouth thing. There is a much easier way. Get about 2 feet of tubing and a turkey baster. Stir up the stuff on the rock. Fully fill the tube with water. Plug one end with thumb and pull tubing over the side and let go. Kinda like the straw in the soda thing we ALL did as kids just in reverse.

My daughters like to lick the salt creep .... which is pretty gross!! Of course it now it gets cleaned pretty regularly!!

On a side note, with gas being $2.25 a gallon now, when siphoning it out of my neighbors car at night, I tend to spit that out as well.

when the power was out I vomited profusely trying to do that to run my generator to avoid waiting two hours for gas.
NEVER siphon gas with your mouth, or a wet dry vacuum like those fools down south that blew themselves up.
