I have looked over previous posts about this product, but none seem to definatively say whether it removes phosphates or not....does this filter pad remove phosphates?

Yes. It will also remove any supplements that you put in the tank, but will not take out the ones that are in your salt mix. It is a good product. I have been using it for years, on salt and freshwater tanks. Its great to run if your water gets an algae bloom. I run it for a few days, then remove it when I have to add any iodine or the like.
