polyps disappearing

I have several polyps in my biocube but my yellow polys are the only ones starting to disappear. none of my other polyps and disappearing. I have shined a light in my tank several hours after the lights have been out and I never see any parasite that shouldnt be in my tank. So i dont think it is a nudibranch. I have not seen a sundial in my tank either. It is just weird that it is just those specfic polyps and not any others. All my other corals are completely healthy. the only fish i have is two clowns, a bar goby and a cleaner wrasse which are all completely reef safe. these polyps have covered a rock for over a year and now the rock is almost empty. Any suggestions.

Inverts: 1 BTA which has been in there for a year and is no where near the polyps.
Water conditions are perfect but I dont i dont know about the flow. I would think that flow wouldnt kill poylps considering how hardy they are. I do have a power head in my tank but it is not in direct flow with these polyps. The polyps are on the bottom of the tank. All of my other corals are in perfect health, so it doesnt make sense.

Your only invert is an anemone? No shrimp/crabs/snails/ nothing else? I find that hard to believe!

Hmm.. may be something in the water that the particular type cannot deal with.... or some sort of hidden creature getting them. Sometimes nudibranches hitchike onto stuff and slowly start to eat away at them. It's tough to determine with the information provided :(

I had the same problem in my 46 gallon. all my zoa colonies were disapearing! and i had no idea what was going on!!! BUT, i was looking around in my tank one night, and saw something at the base of my zoas. I looked closer and it was a big asterina starfish. I did some studys on them, and they dont usually eat coral, but if thats all there is to eat, then they will eat them. Maybe this could be the problem???

I have been looking at nights several times after the lights have been out for several hours. Can starfish be in your tanks for years and you not know? I still haven't seen anything and they are still disapearing

I've had my liverock for going on 5 years now and I find new stuff pretty often. Found a really weird snail today that I've never seen before.

do you use any supplements?? It could also be some sort of crab that could be hiding around. I had a big gorilla crab that came in on my live rock, did know i had him till i saw my sixline going at him. Get a flash light out at night, and look around.
All parameters are correct right??

parameter are great. I have been looking around at night and have yet to see anything. All other corals are in good health. It is just the yellow polyps that are disappearing

Are you over supplementing maybe?? There HAS to be something eating them, most likely. Have you seen any floating around in the water? or are they just gone?
