Is popeye life threatening? Can it spread to other tankmates? Also my new Coral Beauty has it in one eye and I have read that it is sometimes just caused by trama to the eye, if so will it go away on its own. I haver done a partial water change just in case. Thanks

Popeye is rarely life-threatening. However, if it is caused by poor water quality, it can be a symptom of a life threatening problem.
A large water change is always appropriate. Make sure to check your water quality readings. When my fish have had it, they have always recovered without treatment. However, if it does not seem to be improving within a few days, antibiotics may become necessary (in a QT, please.)
